Measles Outbreak In US: The United States is hit by a measles epidemic as the number of cases reaches an unprecedented high after almost 25 years of what was termed as the disappearance of measles.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 1,288 cases of measles have been confirmed on Wednesday, which is the most number of cases to be reported since 1992, overriding the the total of cases that were reported for the year 2019, which was the the last time till now when the country suffered a measles outbreak.

By far, an estimated of more than fifty per cent of states have reported having detected at least one case to the CDC, with almost 27 outbreaks being reported. By far, three deaths have been reported from measles infections since the first outbreak was reported in January of this year. The deaths include two children in Texas, and both were unvaccinated. The majority of cases have been reported in unvaccinated people.

The health authorities have been taking all precautions and measures to deal with the outbreak and tackle the threat with all the latest and advanced developments.
