A week after an announcement made by Biden’s office about former US President’s undergoing medical care, Joe Biden rang a bell after a round of radiation therapy for his aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Former US President Joe Biden, who was previously diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2025, following a surgery for a benign enlarged prostate, successfully underwent radiation therapy and hormone treatment as part of his medical care at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia.
Biden’s spokesperson, Kelly Scully, announced the scheduled treatment on October 11. In his words, “As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment.”
A week after the announcement made by Biden’s office, the former US President rang a bell after a round of radiation therapy for his aggressive form of prostate cancer. According to close sources, the radiation therapy is expected to span 5 weeks, which will mark a new phase of his care.
Joe Biden Rang The Bell After A Round Of Radiation Therapy
Hailing the milestone of Joe Biden, his daughter Ashley Biden took to social media and wrote, “Rung the bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful.”
In a follow-up post, Ashley Biden wrote, “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.” Citing the completion of a round of therapy, Biden’s spokesperson, Kelly Scully, told the media, “He rang the bell today.”
The former US President was diagnosed with prostate cancer after he experienced an unusual urinary symptom, which prompted further medical evaluation, in May 2025. At the time of the announcement, his office stated, “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason Score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Prostate cancer is a common chronic disease that occurs in one out of three people during their lifetime.
