Vietnam-based sales agent Skyline Media is orchestrating a global launch for “The Bride,” a Thailand-Vietnam horror co-production that will begin its theatrical rollout with a Vietnam premiere on Aug. 29.
The film, produced by Thongkham Films and Silver Moonlight Entertainment, has secured distribution deals across multiple territories, with Australia and New Zealand set to release the film on the same date as its Vietnam debut through Infinity Entertainment.
Additional theatrical deals are in place for Taiwan (MovieCloud), North America (Eastern Edge Films), and Latin America (Delta Films SAC), with releases expected across these territories in September. Thailand will serve as the final stop in the global theatrical rollout.
Directed by Lee Thongkham and produced by Hang Trinh, “The Bride” follows a young Vietnamese woman engaged to her wealthy Thai boyfriend. Her visit to his rural hometown in Thailand turns terrifying when she encounters the ghostly presence of a bride after trying on a traditional Thai wedding dress — an heirloom harboring sinister family secrets.
The film was shot across Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, featuring a binational cast led by Thailand’s Krissanapoom “J.J.” Pibulsonggram (“Inhuman Kiss: The Last Breath”) and Vietnam’s Rima Thanh Vy (“Muoi: The Curse Returns”). The Vietnamese ensemble also includes Jun Vu (“A Hundred Billion Key”) and Cong Duong (“Once Upon A Time In Indochine”), while Thai actors include Karnpicha “Jomjam” Pongpanit (“RedLife”), Narupornkamol “Praew” Chaisang (“Master Of The House”), Duangjai “Pure” Hiransri (“Inhuman Kiss”), and R.Nu Surasak Chaiyaat (“Love Destiny”).
“After more than a year in development, Skyline Media is executing an ambitious strategy for the film’s global launch,” said Alice Nguyen, distribution manager at Skyline Media. “We’re scheduling cinema openings in key territories soon after its Vietnamese premiere on Aug. 29, followed by sequential releases across Asian markets, and a grand theatrical finale in the story’s cultural birthplace – Thailand.”
The project represents the latest in Skyline Media’s strategy to bring Vietnamese content to international markets. Since the start of 2025, the company has expanded globally with family drama “The Real Sister,” which premiered in over 100 North American locations and also released in Myanmar, Australia, and New Zealand. “The Ancestral Home,” Vietnam’s highest-grossing spiritual film, has reached international cinemas in Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, the U.S., and Canada, becoming the eighth highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time in North America.
Skyline Media plans to present “The Bride” to additional buyers at the upcoming Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan this September, focusing on expanding sales across additional Asian territories.
Thongkham Films, founded in 2020 by filmmaker Lee Thongkham, has built a reputation for genre storytelling and international collaborations, with previous credits including Netflix Original “The Maid,” Thailand-China co-production “The Lake,” and action-comedy “Kitty The Killer.”
Silver Moonlight Entertainment, established in 2019, has been involved in producing and investing in Vietnamese blockbusters including “Blood Moon Party,” “Vietnamese Horror Story,” “Naked Truth,” and “Muoi: The Curse Returns.”
Skyline Media has distributed over 800 international titles and served as sales agent for more than 150 Vietnamese and Southeast Asian titles, reaching over 50 countries through 130-plus partnerships worldwide.
