Ever since, the man had been in shock. He reportedly locked himself up inside a room, wore Radha’s saree, her jewellery and make-up, and hung himself.
The incident occurred on May 23, while Sanjay’s family had gone out to attend his elder brother Dharmendra’s wedding ceremony. However, Sanjay chose not to attend the celebrations and stayed back.
His elder brother tried to call him over the phone, but got no response.
When they returned, they found the door of the house locked from inside. Sensing something was wrong, they informed the police, who broke open the lock and discovered Sanjay’s body.
“We received information about a foul smell coming from a room of a house in the Atarra police station area. A police team reached the spot and, upon entering the room, saw the body of a young man, about 25-years-old. He was hanging from a noose, dressed like a woman, wearing saree, mangalsutra and jewellery,” said DSP Banda, Praveen Kumar.
He said that a forensic team was called in and after collection of evidence, the body was sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is still on in the case.
