The live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” will become available to watch at home via PVOD, on platforms such as Amazon Prime and Apple TV, starting July 22.

A remake of Disney‘s 2002 animated action-comedy of the same name, “Lilo & Stitch” follows the story of Stitch (voiced by Chris Sanders) — a rambunctious blue alien — who crash lands on Earth and gets adopted by an eccentric young Hawaiian girl named Lilo (Maia Kealoha) and her caregiving older sister, Nani (Sydney Agudong). Through bizarre antics and a common love for Elvis, the two outcasts become kindred spirits and learn the true meaning of “Ohana.”

Soon, audiences will be able to enjoy “Lilo & Stitch” at home, with the film becoming available to purchase or rent on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube starting July 22. Fans can already pre-order the film on Amazon, with a purchase price of $29.99. The film will also become available on K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 26. Being a Disney property, “Lilo & Stitch” will likely become available to stream on Disney+ sometime later this year, after a several-week PVOD window.

Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, “Lilo & Stitch” hit theaters on May 23. It enjoyed a $146,016,175 opening weekend, outperforming “Mission Impossible—The Final Reckoning” which also released that weekend. It went on to gross over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the first film of 2025 to do so. It is the latest in Disney’s live-action remakes and far exceeded the performance of “Snow White,” which Disney released in March to a shallow $205,679,463 total box office and poor reviews.

“Will audiences go for it?” Variety film critic Peter DeBruge asks in his review. “What ‘Lilo & Stitch’ has in its favor is the emotionally solid blueprint provided by Sanders and DeBlois’ screenplay, which brings everything back to family, updated (and slightly expanded) here by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes.”

Rent/purchase “Lilo & Stitch” on Amazon starting today.
