Lana Condor has joined Season 3 of CBS’ police procedural “Elsbeth” as a guest star. She will play the much younger girlfriend of a college basketball coach in the dramedy, a spinoff of “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight.”
Named Peyton, Condor’s character uses her influence to act as a de facto assistant coach, despite the fact that the team and its fans would prefer she remain on the sidelines. When the school’s athletic director winds up dead after a heated confrontation with Peyton, the campus gleefully blames the most hated woman in college basketball.
“Elsbeth” Season 3 premieres on Oct. 12. The show stars Carrie Preston as the de facto detective Elsbeth Tascioni. The majority of the show functions as a “howcatchem” mystery, rather than a “whodunit,” meaning the audience typically knows who the murderer is at the beginning of each episode. The series premiered in February 2024 and kicked off its second season just months after the first season aired.
“Elsbeth” has a vibrant roster of guest stars including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Alan Ruck, Jane Krakowski, David Alan Grier, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Mary-Louise Parker and Tracy Ullman, among many others. In Season 3, Julia Fox will play a New York City “grief influencer” and Stephen Colbert will play a late-night host.
Condor is an actor and YouTube creator who made her film debut playing Jubilee in the 2016 superhero movie “X-Men: Apocalypse.” She is best known for her role as Lara Jean Covey in the “To All the Boys” film franchise, in which she starred opposite Noah Centineo. She recently appeared in “Valiant One” alongside Chase Stokes, and she’ll next be in the David Leitch action vehicle “Ballerina Overdrive.”
