“Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2 surprised fans at New York Comic Con with the first trailer for the sophomore season. Charlie Cox, who stars as Daredevil, appeared on stage and reunited with Krysten Ritter, who is officially back in the MCU as Jessica Jones.
The biggest moment of the trailer, shown only to attendees in the room, was the return of Ritter’s Jones, who previously starred in her own self-titled Marvel series on Netflix and teamed up with Daredevil in “The Defenders.” Elden Henson, whose Foggy Nelson shockingly died in the “Born Again” series premiere, also appeared in the trailer and will be back for Season 2. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin was featured throughout the trailer and was shown boxing an opponent in a ring. No release date was announced at the panel.
Season 1 of “Daredevil: Born Again” released on Disney+ in early 2025 and brought back many of the original cast members from Netflix’s gritty “Daredevil” series. Cox, who previously reprised his role as Daredevil in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Echo,” headlined the series, which was Marvel’s first M-rated show.
Daredevil, aka the blind lawyer Matt Murdock, faced off against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, who ascended to mayor of New York City. Henson and Deborah Ann Woll also returned as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, two of Matt’s closest friends. However, the “Born Again” series premiere shocked fans by having the killer assassin Bullseye (Wilson Bethel from Netflix’s “Daredevil”) murder Foggy, sending Matt into a depressive state and having him hang up his Daredevil costume.
In the lead-up to “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2, it was previously revealed that Ritter would be back as Jones. Horror king Matthew Lillard will also be joining Season 2, and the show scored an early Season 3 renewal this summer.
The “Born Again” cast also includes Margarita Levieva, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini and Ayelet Zurer. Jon Bernthal, who starred as the Punisher in Netflix’s “Daredevil” and his own spinoff, also returned and made his MCU debut in “Born Again.” Bernthal will star in his own MCU TV special devoted to the violent vigilante, in addition to appearing in next summer’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
