COVID-19 cases in India have been consistently declining, with the active caseload dropping to 1,691 as of Tuesday. In the past 24 hours, two deaths were reported, bringing the total number of COVID-related fatalities this year to 144. The current spread of the virus is primarily driven by two Omicron-linked sub-variants NB.1.8.1 and LF.7.

Amid growing public concern over the safety of COVID-19 vaccines and their alleged link to sudden cardiac deaths, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a strong clarification. Citing extensive research conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the ministry emphasized that no evidence exists to suggest an increase in heart attack-related deaths due to COVID-19 vaccination.

No Links Between COVID Vaccine And Heart Attack: ICMR And AIIMS

A recent study has pulled the curtains off all the speculations that linked the COVID-19 vaccine with other diseases. The study has claimed that there is no direct link between COVID-19 vaccinations and other instances of unforeseen death that are occurring in COVID-vaccinated adults in India.

The investigations were headed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) along with the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) that took into consideration several parallel indicators while concluding the study, it noted that there are several factors like lifestyle choices, pre-existing health conditions and genetic factors that are driving such unprecedented rate of sudden deaths, the ministry said on Wednesday.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has had speculations about death being one of the side effects of the vaccine, which was highly linked to young people.

The fear and speculations about the repercussions of vaccination had put the authenticity of the vaccines in question, and that prompted the national agencies to look deeper into the case and investigate.

The findings regarding the same have now been made public to extinguish any uncertainty and potential misinformation around the side effects of the vaccine. The study aims to put an end to all of these concerns, throw some clarity and inhibit the spread of fear around vaccines.

Are COVID Vaccines Safe?

The health ministry has stated that the two studies that have been made are reflective of vaccines being safe, and at the same time, they put forward a more comprehensive understanding of out-of-the-blue and unexplained deaths that have been occurring to young adults in India.

“It has also been revealed that COVID-19 vaccination does not appear to increase the risk, whereas the role of underlying health issues, genetic predisposition and risky lifestyle choices does play a role in unexplained sudden deaths,” the health ministry said.

The ministry, at the same time, has put emphasis on the fact that the researchers and the scientific evidence have strongly stood against the statements that were reflective of the possible linking of the COVID-19 vaccinations to these unexpected and sudden deaths. The ministry has called all such claims false and misleading, while also claiming that these speculations are not backed by any scientific evidence.

Such false and unauthorised claims can erode the trust of the people in the effectiveness of not just the COVID-19 vaccine, but other vaccines too

which have helped safeguard the lives of people around the world in times of such ordeals like the COVID pandemic.

Such of the invalidated reports and speculations could possibly lead to people being hesitant about vaccines and which can impact public health and vaccines

There were various kinds of vaccines administered in India during the covid 19 outbreak that included Covishield, which was developed by Oxford/AstraZeneca, and Covaxin by Bharat Biotech.
