Channing Tatum Is Criminal Living in Toys R Us


Paramount and Miramax have released the first trailer for Channing Tatum‘s latest movie, “Roofman.”

Based on a true story, the drama follows a former Army Ranger and a struggling father facing financial hardships. To make ends meet, he decides to rob McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname “Roofman.” While hiding in a toy store after escaping from prison, he starts a new life when he falls in love with a single mother (played by Kirsten Dunst) and her two daughters. However, his criminal past and final robbery complicate his chance at redemption. 

The cast also includes Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias and Jimmy O. Yang round out the cast.

Derek Cianfrance directed “Roofman,” and producers are are Lynette Howell Taylor, Jamie Patricof, Duncan Montgomery and Dylan Sellers, with the script coming from Cianfrance and Kirk Gunn. The executive producers of the film include Tatum, Cianfrance, and Jonathan Montepare, as well as Limelight’s Chris Parker. Additionally, Miramax’s Thom Zadra, Becky Sloviter, and Becky Sloviter will executive produce alongside High Frequency’s Sam Romano, Rick Covert, and Jack Selby. Charles Barsamian is also an executive producer.

Miramax acquired the film for certain territories, including the United States, and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures as part of their first look deal with both companies. Tatum will next be seen in Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” where he’ll reprise his “Deadpool and Wolverine” role as the X-Men character Gambit.

“Roofman” is set to release in theaters on October 3. Watch the trailer below.
