Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ Retakes Lead at Korea Box Office


Brad Pitt‘s “F1” reclaimed the top spot at the Korean box office over the July 18–20 weekend, grossing $2.6 million from 332,902 admissions. According to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, the film has now reached $14.5 million in cumulative earnings.

Animated biblical epic “The King of Kings” opened in second with $2.08 million and 303,370 admissions. Directed by Jang Seong-ho and produced by Mofac Studios and Angel Studios, the film retells the story of Jesus through the eyes of a child. It has a cumulative total of $2.6 million.

Japanese animated mystery “Detective Conan the Movie: One-Eyed Flashback” landed in third place, adding $1.4 million for a running total of $2.2 million.

Last week’s chart-topper, “Jurassic World Rebirth,” dropped to fourth with $1.39 million. The film’s cumulative haul now stands at $13.9 million. Korean thriller “Noise” followed closely in fifth with $1.38 million, lifting its total to $10.4 million.

James Gunn’s “Superman” slid to sixth, grossing $944,531 for a cumulative $5.6 million. In seventh, “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales” added $174,929 in its second frame to reach $286,987.

Horror title “Ghost Train” earned $85,387 for a total of $619,963. Japanese suspense film “The Floor Plan” debuted in ninth with $78,256. Also known as “A Strange House,” the film, which has a cumulative total of $101,047, follows Amemiya, a YouTuber who investigates a peculiar house with an inexplicable layout.

Horror sequel “M3GAN 2.0” rounded out the top ten with $73,600 in its opening weekend and a cumulative total of $109,582.

The top ten films collectively grossed $11.2 million over the July 18–20 weekend, down slightly from $11.4 million the previous frame.
