The Blind Side has become the talk of the town again, and this time with his weight loss transformation that has left the fans in awe. He recently took to his Instagram handle that he lost 200 pounds dropping from 575 pounds to 375 pounds. After he finally reached his long-term goal, he expressed that he feels proud and motivated than before.

Not only this, but he also wrote in his caption,” I got this”, which shows that it not only is about the physical change, but a deep personal change in the mindset and lifestyle.

Binge Eating Disorder: A Struggle Beyond The Scale

Aaron opened up about his battle with Binge Eating disorder, which is a serious condition, but is not very much talked about, and it also affected his health for many years. This disorder is a common disorder where a person eats large quantities of food very quickly until they start feeling discomfort and which is also accompanied by feelings of loss, control, guilt, and shame.

Here are some of the symptoms of Binge Eating Disorder

  • Eating food unusually, and that too in large amounts of food in a short period of time.
  • Eating even when not physically hungry
  • Eating rapidly during binge episodes
  • Eating in secret or alone, due to shame or embarrassment
  • Feeling the lack of control, which can be not able to stop or slowdown

Few of his past interviews and recent social media post, he revealed that how he would eat, even when he was not hungry, sometimes sitting in his car, eating and crying where he was unable to stop and this clearly indicates the signs of the disorder, which is also linked to emotional distress, trauma, and low self-esteem.His weight gain was not just a physical change, but it was also about deeper emotional pain.

Covid And The Wake Up Call

He also revealed that COVID-19 pandemic made things worse. He felt isolated and dealt with stress and even gained more weight. The period was a wake up call for him where he realised that if he won’t take any initiative and make a change to his health, it can further deteriorate.By July 2023, he lost 150 pounds and since then he continued to slim down, and his recent milestone is a 200 pound loss which is also a clearest evidence of his dedication.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

If something we can learn from Aaron’s journey, it should be about how he turned his pain into purpose. It is not just about weight loss, but it is also about his determination, consistency and how he always stick to what you wanted to do. As someone who was bullied growing up for his size, he wants to use his story to inspire kids to embrace healthy habits and self-acceptance where he’s also raising awareness not just about obesity, but about the emotional and psychological battles. One has to deal with. He’s always upfront and encourages others to speak up, seek help, and also believes that change is possible, no matter how far off it may seem. In one of his recent interview interviews, he said, “There’s a lot of life to live. I want to be here for it healthy, happy and whole’.
