Banijay Entertainment boss Marco Bassetti told an audience at Mipcom Monday that the company has commissioned 10 pilots from partners in the creator economy utilizing dormant IP from the Banijay catalog.
Working more closely with the creator economy was a priority for the company, he said, during an onstage conversation with Elsa Keslassy, Variety’s Executive Editor of International, and Cynthia Littleton, co-editor-in-chief of Variety.
Bassetti, who was honored with the Variety Vanguard Award at the TV conference and market, said that it could become a win-win situation with the creators, where Banijay could bring the IP and the capacity to produce to a high standard and the creators bring a huge community.
