“Cross” Season 2 is officially coming in 2026.
As part of the show’s New York Comic-Con panel, it was revealed that the second season of the Amazon Prime Video drama will debut with its first three episodes on Feb. 11, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter through March 18. Amazon also debuted the first teaser for the new season, which can be seen below.
Aldis Hodge returns as Alex Cross, based on the James Patterson novel character. The official logline for Season 2 states “Cross is in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates.”
Along with Hodge, the Season 2 cast includes new additions Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham as well as returning stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill.
“Cross” was developed for television by Ben Watkins, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Hodge executive produces in addition to starring. Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa also executive produce. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios.
“Cross” was renewed for its second season ahead of the first season premiere. The series was well-received by both critics and audiences upon its initial release, with Amazon claiming the show drew 40 million viewers in its first 20 days of availability.
The show had initially been put into development at Amazon back in 2020. Morgan Freeman previously played Cross in two films — “Kiss the Girls” in 1997 and “Along Came a Spider” in 2001. Tyler Perry then played him in the film “Alex Cross,” which was released in 2012.
