A healthy diet can also help you lower blood pressure. In a new guideline shared by the American Heart Association (AHA), the institution suggested the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet to maintain blood pressure. This diet is a specific eating plan for those with high blood pressure. DASH focuses on limiting salt and sugar intake, full-fat dairy products, and fatty meals. It encourages patients to indulge in foods like fruits, fish, low-fat and fat-free dairy, whole grains, vegetables, legumes, and vegetable oils.
