Kusha Kapila, the popular actress and social media content creator, is admired for her wit, relatability, and strong screen presence. Throughout the years, she has created a core loyal fan base that follows her with authenticity. She has recently shocked a number of her followers with her dramatic weight loss, which created an online buzz. Although the best guess of fans was what the secret was about her transformation, Kusha has now shared the truth about her journey, making it clear that her story is about much more than weight loss.
Kusha Kapila Shares Her Health Journey
Speaking with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, Kusha Kapila opened up about the real reason behind her transformation. It was something that affected both her health and confidence. As she has disclosed, her quest started with her fighting insecurities that were acne and PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease), both of which resonated immensely in her physical and even mental health.
Talking about her struggle, Kusha recalled, “My biggest problem was that I had a camera-facing job, and my face was full of acne. At 28-29, my entire face was full of acne, and I couldn’t understand anything. I was applying topical creams, and it was not helping me in any manner.”
She also shared how painful her condition had become. “When that acne became so painful and it was bleeding, I could not sleep on any side of my face. Your face is your real estate, especially if you are in this business,” she said, emphasising how her job added pressure to her already difficult health battle.
Kusha Kapila’s Lifestyle Changes Over Shortcuts
Kusha showed that she sought the services of doctors rather than mindlessly listening to the suggestions of the Internet. Her medical consultation was simple but changed her life: change her diet and pay more attention to nutrition, exercise habitually, and do not make poaching decisions.
“First of all, I went to a doctor, you know, instead of just seeing videos online. He told me I will have to undergo major lifestyle changes because I have PCOD,” she explained.
This was a piece of advice that made her reevaluate her way of life. Instead of the pursuit of weight loss as an empowerment, she embarked on working out and eating healthy so that she could balance both her body and her mind.
Kusha Kapila Exercises For Mental Strength
Another one of the largest changes during the course of the Kusha life cycle is her perception of fitness. Rather than the body image being linked to exercise, she linked it to mental health. “The advice everyone gave me, whoever I met, the doctors, they said that I will have to exercise. Nothing responds to this better. So, I tied exercise to my life in such a way that I am doing this for my mental health, not for my weight,” she shared.
This point of view made her remain steady and tolerant of patience, which ultimately resulted in healthier skin, more energy, and overall health.
Why Kusha Kapila Avoided Strong Medication?
In her treatment, physicians had prescribed the generic isotretinoin, a standard therapy used in acne of severe acne. Kusha, however, opted not to take it after he heard about its side effects on mental health. “I was on medicine, although the doctors told me to take isotretinoin. I never went on it because, apparently, in some cases, your mental health can deteriorate. I am not against people taking medicine some drugs are actually very good for you. But with ISO, I was not very sure,” she explained.
Kusha Kapila’s Weight Loss Was A Byproduct
In the case of Kusha, losing weight was not the greatest victory, but being able to control her skin and mental status was. She revealed that the outward change was merely an indirect effect, as she had made good lifestyle changes.
Her experience is a very motivating message that a real change does not hinge on shortcuts and running around to increase weight, but more on making long-lasting lifestyle decisions that enhance physical and emotional health.
