Thailand’s CEA to Launch Second Content Project Market

Thailand‘s Creative Economy Agency is doubling down on its mission to transform the country into a global creative powerhouse with the launch of the second edition of its Content Project Market.

The event will serve as a national marketplace where Thai filmmakers, screenwriters and animators can pitch directly to production houses, content investors, distributors and streaming platforms from Thailand and abroad. The marketplace will feature project pitching sessions, B2B business matching and networking receptions, alongside industry forums led by Thai and international experts. The forum sessions will be open to both content professionals and the general public interested in the content and media industry. More than 70 companies are expected to participate.

“CEA views the Content Project Market as more than just an event — it is a step toward building a comprehensive and sustainable ecosystem for Thai content creators,” said Chakrit Pichyangkul, executive director of CEA. “By connecting talent with funding and commercial platforms, we are opening doors for projects to progress into production while elevating the standard of Thai content to compete on the global stage.”

The event aligns with Thailand’s broader soft power strategy, positioning the country as a growing creative hub in Southeast Asia. Pichyangkul emphasized the economic potential of Thai content beyond entertainment value.

“Thai films and series have the power to attract international tourists and drive demand for Thai products and services featured in global content,” he noted. “This event not only boosts the visibility of content creators on the world stage, but also serves as a strategic driver for the long-term development of Thailand’s creative economy.”

A total of 54 creative teams will present their projects at the market. Of these, 34 teams emerge from CEA’s Content Lab 2025 project, developed under three specialized programs: Mid-Career: Project for established creators developing content for international markets; Mid-Career: Story for screenwriters developing commercially viable scripts; and Mid-Career: Animation for creators preparing Thai animations for production.

An additional 20 professional content teams were selected through an open call process.

CEA operates as a public agency under the supervision of the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, with a mission to drive balanced and sustainable growth of the country’s creative economy. The agency focuses on developing creative industries while promoting the integration of creativity and innovation into production to enhance the value of goods, services and cultural capital.

The Content Project Market runs Sept. 10-12 at Bangkok’s True Digital Park (East).
