Heatwave In India Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated the forthcoming heatwave conditions in several cities of Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan till June 14, with some intense heatwave conditions in some parts specifically. Whereas the National Capital might experience some relief after a ‘feel-like’ fifty-two degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, identical conditions might persist in several places over the areas of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the west Uttar Pradesh including Punjab. The states of Haryana, Chandigarh and the National Capital Delhi too might persist with the heatwave conditions till today i.e, today, June 14.
Western Himalayan Region Braces for Extreme Temperatures
Moderate to severe Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over the northwestern part of India which includes the Western Himalayan region till June 14 i.e., today and tomorrow and then would see relief thereafter, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather authorities have also indicated heavy rainfall in Kerala, Karnataka, and Goa. The IMD has put heatwave conditions on the radar in several places in Himachal Pradesh and the east region of Rajasthan till June 14, with intense heatwave conditions in some parts. The Heatwave conditions might prevail in many places over west Rajasthan too and for a longer time i.e., till June 15, with boiling heat wave conditions at specific areas in the state till June 14, the Met department said.
The weather officials have all reported possible hot and humid weather over the northeastern states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today. The nights may remain warm in heat-stuck regions over Punjab, Haryana, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh among others, as claimed by the India Meteorological Department.
The IMD has alarmed that there will not be any visible change in the maximum temperatures over the northwest area and the central part of India for at least the next two to three days.
Southwest Monsoon May Arrive Early in Delhi: IMD Forecast
The national capital Delhi had been going through grappling with intense heat humidity. The capital might sol relief soon as the southwest monsoon is likely to reach the capital 10 days ahead of its usual expected arrival, the weather department said on Thursday.
Regularly, the monsoon hits Delhi around June 30, but an India Meteorological Department (IMD) report has indicated that it could make its presence felt as early as the third week of June.
With signs of relief, the Delhiites can expect to breathe a sigh of rain after the mercury peaks with the maximum temperatures reaching over 43 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Temperatures in Delhi have remained a few notches above normal over the past two weeks with intense heat wave warnings being issued. But this Wednesday, the weather body issued a forthright statement that from June 14 to 17, Delhi could witness a significant drop in temperatures to 37-42 degrees Celsius, joined by light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds.
